Live @ Messiah: 4th Sunday of Lent 2017
This Lent we continue to the walk the way of the cross as a way of healing for creation, the world, and ourselves. This the focus is on the healing that God offers to individuals. In powerful acts of healing Jesus showed the power of God and transformed not only the lives of those he healed but the lives of all who saw or heard of these signs. Healing in all its forms is a manifestation of God’s love and intention to restore all creation to wellness and flourishing. Praying for healing is a fundamentally faithful activity as it mimics so many who experienced God’s grace in precisely this way. It is also important to keep in mind that sickness is not a punishment for sin or lack of faith–as Jesus says God sends the rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. Reaching out to God in times of trouble is only possible because we have the promise of blessing and presence. The service includes readings from scripture, music, a sermon, and communion.
